In the summer of 2017, I had the opportunity to join a startup founded within Stanford's Graduate School of Business as a product design intern. I led the front-end design and development of Meteor, the company's climate change risk prediction and analysis engine. The web application, which leverages machine learning and climate models to predict climate change risk factors for a given location, was built using React and the Django REST framework.
This was my first time building a web application, and it was both challenging and rewarding to have so much autonomy over the architecture and vision of the application, from the first UI designs to the code structure of the React components. Working on such an interdisciplinary team also allowed me to learn from a business and climatology perspective, as well.
